What We Do
USFI Sales imports food for the leading supermarket chains and food wholesalers in the United States, global food manufacturers and eCommerce sellers. We take care of all regulatory requirements, clear shipments through customs and ensure they are delivered at distribution centers and eCommerce fulfillment facilities. We offer a solution for food retailers and wholesalers who do not wish to shoulder the burdens of importing food directly and allow foreign sellers bring in product under DDP terms.
Food Safety
Nothing is more important to USFI Sales than the safety of the food we import. We subject all of our suppliers to a rigorous supplier food safety verification program including verifying Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audits and certification are current. For our foreign suppliers we conduct a comprehensive Foreign Supplier Verification Program which meets (and generally exceeds) the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Foreign Supplier Verification Program Rule under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Our food safety verification records are available for our customers to review through our customer portal.
Regulatory Compliance
Keep your QA and legal departments happy with our written guarantee provided to customers that all of our products sold meet FDA regulatory compliance standards. This provides our customers with a safe harbor under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (21 USC § 333(c)) which precludes FDA from imposing civil and criminal penalties on businesses and officers of such businesses for introducing adulterated or misbranded food into interstate commerce among other things.
With our in-house customs broker and compliance team we work diligently and effectively to confirm all applicable regulatory requirements are met before products are shipped do avoid undue delays at the border. We act as the importer of record and Foreign Supplier Verification Program importer for FDA-regulated food imports.
